Dear Alumni,
It’s with immense pleasure that I am able to address so many of you at the click of a mouse. I was a student of that batch which did not dream of such a possibility. I come from the generation of Clark Tables, Slide Rule etc. Calculator was a dream possession. (Late 60’s). Expecting delivery of a Scooter in the next 5 years was exciting. If married, possessing Gass stove is a luxury.
Building Alumni Movement through personal interaction was painfully slow and success rate of enrolling “Life Members” was also poor. The meets were poorly attended and only few meets were conducted during this decade. But the bondage was strong, passion was high. These two factors sustained the Movement.
Thanks to the advent of the Internet. We should be able to enhance our participation and start doing something for our Alma-Mater. The click of a button, paves vision of large horizon to share our wisdom, help student’s employability, improve inputs to research effort. The list is endless and you can add more. This wonderful moment reminds me of a beautiful part of a psalm, we used to sing at school, “Give me oil in my lamp, keep me shining” – a call from our Alma-Mater. The beautiful people that you are all, I am sure will keep Alma-Mater shining.
Warm Regards and Love.
