I am happy to learn that the NITW Alumni Association has launched its official website with the URL : www.nitwaa.org.

   We are in the age of the Internet and I am confident that this website would act as a catalyst for the networking of the institute with alumni and among alumni. I also would like the website to act as a proper window for alumni-institute interaction by dissemination of accurate information and provide a dynamic forum to exchange news and views. The website should help in building the brand image of NITW.

   I am happy to share that the NIT Act has been passed by Parliament. This Act bestows on NITW the status of an “Institute of National Importance”. This exalted status puts an additional responsibility on all of us including Alumni to raise to this status and help the nation in meeting the various technical challenges and provide succour to the millions of the underprivileged citizens of our country through cost-effective technical solutions. I am proud of our Alumni and I am confident that the Alumni of NITW would respond positively to this challenge.

   Finally I would request all the Alumni to use the forum of this website to achieve the objectives laid out in the vision and mission statements of the Institute.

   I wish the NITW Alumni Association and its web development team all success in this endeavor.
